 Jigsaw have just released their new Autumn / Winter 2009 fashion collection.

Inspiration has been drawn from the early 20^th century, with the brand’s signature focus on quintessential British dressing and attention to detail. The mood of Jigsaw’s AW09 collection is sophisticated; reworking and embellishing classic shapes and styles to create contemporary must-haves. Fabrics are luxurious with washed silk satins, velvets, brocades, cashmeres and silks enhanced with beautiful autumn/ winter colour, texture and shape for the sumptuous season ahead.

Beautiful vintage-inspired, confetti and water colour prints have been given new life on washed silk chiffons and washed satins. Soft pieces are layered under cocooning knits with drapes of jewellery. Embellished dresses are worn under cropped jackets with boots. Ruffle back pencil skirts are teamed with silk trimmed jerseys and sleek jewel toned knitwear. Frills, bustles, asymmetric cuts and sharp silhouettes turn flannel trousers, neat cardigans and wool jackets into Jigsaw’s autumn winter statement pieces.

Slate blues and autumnal teal shades introduce the new season. Layers of plum tones are highlighted with flashes of gold and chartreuse. Later rich burnt oranges arrive amongst bitter chocolate tones. Warm winter greys have blue tints to lift. Eveningwear is offered in deep ink blues or jet onyx black.

Flashes of fuchsia, and minimalist cobalt come in the form of colour block macs and statement dresses for a bold, dynamic fashion direction.

Punk Ambition – Provocative dressing demands centre stage this season with tough black pieces making an overtly seductive statement. Punk influences take on a dangerously glamorous edge; think exposed zips, heavy studs, and wet-look satin for a ferocious fantasy brought to life at Balmain and Mark Fast. Wear. With. Attitude!

Monochrome Movement- Black and white colour combinations were a strong focus on the A/W catwalks for 09, with designers playing with the notion of monochromatic dressing.
